Women Are Rising

When I first met Johanna I was struck by her enthusiasm and joy. 

She was raised seeking attention from her alcoholic father.  And then as an adult, the emotional trauma of losing him took its toll. 

Johanna experienced extreme anxiety that caused paralysis in half her body leading to the misdiagnoses of a stroke and depression so strong she found herself on the brink of suicide. It wasn’t till she released the reigns of control and surrendered to a higher power of her own understanding that she was able to begin a healing spiritual journey.

Jen Turrell has one of the most incredible stories and I was beyond humbled to share it with her on the podcast.

After being raised in a cult and being abused for 12 years she managed to not only escape but thrive and overcome everything she faced as a young woman.

If you've been following the news, a flood of women speaking out on harassment, abuse and rape are making their presence known.

And as a woman who has experienced it, I wanted to offer some thoughts on how we can move through this with grace and really make a shift.

I also wanted to give a little insight into the mental and emotional gymnastics that a woman might go through as she tries to rationalize and accept what has happened.

It's ok to no longer be ok with what you once thought was acceptable. I changed my mind, and you can too.
